We have been looking at frogs this week in the Hive. We have enjoyed songs about frogs and looking at tadpoles. The story of the Teeny Weeny tadpole has become a firm favourite too!

What to look for in term 4
Polar patterns!
Wintery maths!
This week we have been looking at comparisons. We weighed penguins, exploring ‘heavier’ and ‘lighter’. We ordered penguins in size order looking at ‘bigger and smaller’ Some of us worked on our number bonds to 10 matching the penguins and their eggs to find the correct number bond and some of us counted buttons on snowmen. We had a big challenge to order the snowmen according to the number, array and numicon pattern! Phew we have been very busy!

What to see in Term 3
It’s beginning to look a lot like……
Time to reflect; remembering together.
We tried some quiet reflection times this week to mark Remembrance Day. We had some quiet calm music and we held poppies together. The children enjoyed some poppy arts and crafts and some poppy repeating patterns. We used poppies of varying sizes to compare and order sizes and had a go at some poppy fine motor control activities too.
Owl babies
This week we have loved finding out about owls and sharing the owl babies story. Again story spoons have been a favourite to join in with telling the story. Some of us have written super speech bubbles and some of us have labelled an owl with support. We have enjoyed some owl crafts and paintings including a wonderful traced painting that one young lady completed beautifully.
