My name is Lisa Baker and I am the Family Liaison Officer (FLO) here at St Nicholas CE Primary Academy.

I am usually at school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8.30-15.30 but am always willing to make an appointment on a different day should you need one, or outside these hours if necessary. I am also available by telephone on these days and my mobile number can accept messages or regular texts if that is more convenient on 07530 113107

I would like to add a special personal warm welcome to all our families joining St Nicholas, please come and find me to say hello if we haven’t already met!

The key role of a FLO is to work with families to help overcome any barriers to children’s learning by providing advice and support in those difficult times when it can be hard to know where to turn.

So in my role as FLO, I’m here to support all parents and carers with a wide range of help, problems, queries and ideas, not just concerning education. I can provide information, advice and support in many areas such as health, parenting skills, training and employment, housing, finance, relationship breakdown, domestic difficulties, as well as starting school or moving on to Secondary School. I can accompany and support you in meetings with other agencies and point you in the direction of any services or help you need, so please do just ask.

As part of my job, I also put on regular courses and events either run by myself or with the help of our local Children’s Centre and Adult Education. We run weekly Maths and English classes for parents and you can even gain a qualification if you’d like to (over 30 have passed either Level 1 or 2 recently). Other fun and informative sessions will be available throughout the school year. We have Family Art Attack sessions, First Aid, Foodtastic, Family Outings, regular Coffee and Chat or Breakfast events, which are ideal opportunities to come along and see me informally with your ideas or questions about how things are going at school for you and your family. Please join me by participating in FLO events to help make our family relationships with school work to their best advantage.

In addition to the School Newsletters, my periodic FLOs FLOW News Flyers come out to let you know about everything provided relevant to my role within school.

If there is something concerning you or your family and you’d like a chat please do get in touch. I’m here to help. All information is of course kept confidential, subject to child protection guidelines.
