Sports Crew Training
Earlier this term some children from year 5 and 6 went over to the Marsh Academy to train as Sports Crew members. The children looked at how to put on mini competitions during lunch times whilst developing children’s sporting skills. All the children had to plan an activity as a small group and then demonstrate and explain it to children from another school, before getting them to complete the activity and scoring them to find a winner! They discussed ways they could make the activity more challenging and less challenging for different ages and abilities.
The children are now keen to implement their new skills and will be supporting children on both KS1 and KS2 playgrounds at lunchtimes in the near future.
Keep an eye for photos of them leading these activities.
Red Ditty Books in Reception
Our Reception children have been working hard this term; learning to read their first Red Ditty books and write about the stories they have read.
They’ve been learning to teach and support each other with the help of their ‘stick of power’. We are really impressed with their enthusiasm and confidence that they show in the RWI sessions!
Well done for all your hard work Reception 🙂
