Red Ditty Books in Reception

Our Reception children have been working hard this term; learning to read their first Red Ditty books and write about the stories they have read.

They’ve been learning to teach and support each other with the help of their ‘stick of power’. We are really impressed with their enthusiasm and confidence that they show in the RWI sessions!

Well done for all your hard work Reception 🙂

Helping your child to blend sounds

Thanks so much to the parents who attended our blending session today, got involved and even practised their sounds!

Here is a video from Ruth Miskin all about blending.

We are holding a ‘speedy reading’ RWI session for those children who have begun their Red Ditty books in Reception on Friday at 9am

If you have any questions please email Miss Common – scommon@st-nicholas-newromney.kent.sch.uk

RWI parents meeting KS1 / EYFS

Just a reminder that there is a Read Write Inc meeting on Tuesday 17th October at 2pm where you will have the opportunity to learn more about Read Write Inc and how the partnerships will support your child in their learning. The workshop will be run by a member of the Read Write Inc Team and Miss Common (Badgers teacher) and will build on the introductory sessions from the start of the school year.

Tea and coffee will be provided to those who attend. We look forward to seeing many of you there.
