Home Learning 8th June

Hello Year 3

We hope this message finds you safe and well.

Please find enclosed your learning pack for this week.

Many of you have reported to us that you face difficulties in accessing the Oak National Academy website. In order to help with this, we have created some learning packs that match the topics being taught on the Oak Academy and will release them here on the class website and dojo throughout the week.

Please keep uploading your work as we love to see it

Many thanks

The Year Three Team

As you may be aware, school is open next week for a number of year groups and this will mean a change in both our roles and responsibilities, however Year Three will still be our priority.

Whilst Mr Houghton will be in school daily, looking after the children of key workers, Mrs Hall will be responsible for the learning in Year 3, including looking after the class website and ClassDojo’s for both Rowan and Chestnut.  We would like you to continue to upload your work and messages as usual, as we love to see all the fantastic work and creative activities you do. Mrs Hall will then be on hand to look at work, award Dojo points as well as answer any questions and queries you may have.  Mr Houghton is keen to keep in touch with Chestnuts, so messages specifically for him will be passed on, alongside updates of news and work.  I’m sure, when time allows,  Mr Houghton will post his own updates and messages.

We hope you are all staying safe and well and we look forward to the day when we can all be back together again.

Many Thanks

The Year Three Team

Summer Half-Term Fun Activities

Hello everyone!

We cannot believe it is half-term already, five weeks have just flown by – we hope you all enjoy the break.

We are not setting any home learning for this week, so you have time to relax and enjoy this time with family.  However, if you are struggling for ideas to entertain everyone after so long at home, we have put together a small pack of fun activities for you to try. We’d still love to see your pictures, so please continue to send them in to your ClassDojo portfolio.

We hope you all had a lovely weekend. Last week we loved seeing all your VE Day pictures – thank you for sharing!  We have thoroughly enjoyed seeing all your lovely learning on ClassDojo, it puts a big smile on our faces – thank you!

Our home learning this week changes slightly as we move over to use the Oak National Academy website for much of our learning.  Hopefully everything will continue to be self explanatory, but if you have any questions please contact us via the ClassDojo for support. We have also included an Oxford Owls eBooks – How to Guide to help you access their free eBooks library.

We hope you enjoy the new learning in this pack and we look forward to seeing everything you share on ClassDojo.

Easter Activity Packs

This is a time when we are normally out and about enjoying the Easter holiday.  As we are unable to do so this year, some activity packs have been put together for you to use. There is no expectation for you to complete these tasks, but feel free to send examples to your teacher, just like you have been doing over the past 2 weeks.  We have included packs from both key stages so that you have a wide variety of different activities to choose from.

The packs cover a variety of subjects, including reading, writing and maths, but there is also a range of other subjects such as art, history and geography, alongside some challenge cards to keep your brains ticking over. You may pick and choose the activities you would like to do.

Remember to keep your daily journal going with your thoughts, feelings, what you have been doing, etc.  You will be able to look back on this one day when people ask what it was like when the schools all closed.
