Science Week

We carried out a number of investigations.  The first investigation involved putting eggs in water.  In a glass of water, the egg sank.  When we added salt, the egg floated because it made the water denser.  The salty water pushes it up more.  This is like the Dead Sea.

We put food colouring into milk.  The colours mixed.  When we added soap on a cotton bud, they shot away and swirled.  This is because milk contains fat and the soap started to break down the fat molecules.

We explored different designs of paper planes and spinners to see which would stay in the air the longest or go the further.  We also tested different materials and size.
