Exploring how light travels
We lined up pieces of card with holes in to test if the light travelled through. The holes had to be perfectly aligned in order for this to work. This demonstrated how light travels in a straight line.

Star of the Week
Well done to Zac for being our Star of the Week! Zac has produced some fantastic writing about the Normandy Landings and has demonstrated a good understanding of fractions this week.

The fraction activity is due in on Wednesday 28th November.
The World War II activities are due after Christmas on January 9th 2019. The children should complete 3 activities of their choice. Please feel free to carry out more than 3 and send them in before the deadline!

Tudor Houses

Tudor Roses
We made some Tudor Roses out of clay.
We learned how the red rose of Lancaster and the white rose of York combined when Henry VII and Elizabeth married, symbolising the end of the War of the Roses.
Introducing our Tudor Topic
The children had to look at the clues to work out what are Term 1 topic was. After suggestions of ‘Pirates’ and ‘Medieval Times’, the children worked out that it was THE TUDORS!
Maths at the University of Kent
Four year 6 pupils went to the University of Kent to carry out extra maths activities. Their first session involved cracking codes. They managed to work out the combination of numbers to open the briefcase and won some sweets!
