Counting snowballs, mixed up snowmen and number fun!
We have been counting and ordering numbers this week, including counting snowballs for the penguins and sorting the number snowmen! Great fun!
Winter investigations
We have enjoyed looking at different polar animals and making ice platforms for them in the water. We had some frozen penguins that were trapped in the ice and we had to help them to escape by melting it. We found our warm hands and breath worked well!
We have also loved our icy ‘igloo’ where we can look at wintery books, play with the polar animals and play matching games under the snowflakes.
Sharing stories
We have enjoyed listening to stories this week and sharing them with our friends. We particularly enjoy the
Gruffalo and have different books and games related to the story. We have used the small world characters from the story to match to pictures and begin to help with retelling the story.

Fun with phonics!
After our Read Writ Inc lessons we like to apply our phonics in a selection of different ways – what fun we have!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas….
The children have enjoyed decorating our tree each day and listening to some of the Nativity songs, especially Little Donkey. We have use the Knitivity characters to help act out the story. We have had fun in our own stable, looking after baby Jesus.
Pudsey Bear art
We had fun today decorating Pudsey Bear with paint finger blobs- a super sensory experience!
Poppy reflections
We have looked at some poppies this week and then painted our own. We listened to some music and had some “quiet” time to reflect in our own way.
Sensory explorations
We are exploring our sensory differences and looking at the Colour Monsters to help to begin to identify and recognise our moods and feelings.
