Week 4

Lots of maths learning this week. We have been exploring number order, counting and correlating accurately and finding one more and one less. We have looked at the symbols for greater than and less than and compared numbers.

Some of us have been investigating different groups of objects and sorting by different criteria.

We have enjoyed exploring place value and using the different manipulatives to show our workings. What a busy week!

Week three

It’s been another great week this week in The Hive! We have been looking at how we grow and change. We love looking at ourselves in the mirrors! We have looked at adults and their young, both in humans and animals, and matched the animal babies on the farm. We have enjoyed looking at farm and animal books and stories together too

Week two

Lots of physical development activities this week to strengthen our core as well as being great at helping us to regulate and practise sharing and turn taking too!

We have also begun to look for early signs of Autumn, making Autumn tree pictures, patterns with the felt leaves and exploring our Autumn treasures collected on our travels. Another super week!

Week one –

It has been wonderful to welcome back the children and see them recognising some familiar faces and exploring the environment.

We have been exploring our faces using mirrors, looking at our features and naming them. We have enjoyed making faces using the magnets and singing songs and rhymes about ourselves.

We have had fun in the home corner making breakfast for each other and taking turns to look after the baby!

Exploring Judaism

We are learning about Judaism in RE this term. We have looked at some Jewish artifacts and talked about what they are used for and why they are special to Jewish people. We especially liked the writing on the Torah Scroll. We thought about what we believe is important and decorated our own mezuzah.
