Kench Hill

Year 4 enjoyed their residential to Kench Hill and really thrived outside of the classroom.

The children practised their map reading skills during our orienteering session. We went on a long stream walk, which resulted in lots of very muddy (and very happy!) children.  The children also learned about their surroundings.

We made shelters and learned about the basic needs of human life today – air to breathe, clean water, food, shelter and sleep.

The children had the opportunity to try archery, mini beast hunting and the bouldering wall. They also enjoyed feeding the ponies, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs.

One of the highlights of the trip was tackling a very, very, very muddy obstacle course — including braving the “Pit of Doom,” which involved plenty of swishy, wet mud!

We also enjoyed the free time, campfire and food!
