A fireman came to talk to the children about fire safety. This included preventing fires and what to do in an emergency.

Mental Health Show
The children had a great time taking part in Captain Wonderweb’s Mental Health awareness pantomime!
They learned how to keep themselves mentally healthy by:
– Being active
– Using less tech
– Getting a healthy amount of sleep
– Eating a well-balanced diet
– Talking to people when we’re worried
Tag Rugby
We enjoyed our first Tag Rugby session with Kav. We played lots of team games involving passing the ball correctly.
Scientific Enquiry
Maple class have been exploring different types of scientific enquiry.
We had to work out what a survey is, how we classify, carry out fair tests, investigate over time, look for patterns and use secondary sources.
Friction Investigation in Science
In Science, Willow class investigated friction by measuring how far a car travels on different surfaces! They concluded that a rougher surface means that there will be more friction.
Music
Year 5 were really excited to welcome back Mrs Vincent. She taught us some new songs and music games. We really enjoyed using instruments to explore pulse and rhythm.

Wow! What a fantastic first term we have had in Year 5! We have done so much learning and been so proud of how Year 5 have persevered even when things were tricky.
